Annual Women’s Giving Luncheon is a Success!

Annual Holiday House toy drive brings joy to homeless children this Holiday Season

During the week of December 17th-21st, we hosted our annual Holiday House toy drive.   With the support of donors, volunteers and sponsors like you, we were able to serve over 150 families and over 500 children this Holiday Season.  This year’s sponsors include, KBP Foods (Winter Wonderland), J.C. 16th Annual Achievers’ Awards

On Friday, November 2, 2018, the Atlanta Children’s Shelter (ACS) hosted its 16th Annual Achievers’ Celebration at the City Winery Atlanta honoring formerly homeless families who have, with the support of ACS programs and services, achieved self-sufficiency through stable employment and permanent housing. Every year the Achievers’ Celebration honors families that have successfully overcome homelessness as well as a Legacy Honoree that has maintained stable employment and housing for at least 5 years. ACS chosen as finalist for Aetna’s 2018 Voices of Health campaign!

The Atlanta Children’s Shelter is has been selected as a finalist in Aetna’s Voices of Health campaign. Online voting is under way here! The voting period runs from October 1st through November 9th for 63 nominated non-profit organizations across six states that are working to improve health and well-being in their communities. Aetna will award $20,000 to the groups that receive the most online votes and $10,000 to the second-place finishers in Atlanta, Columbus, Houston, Philadelphia, Jacksonville, South Florida...

Women’s Giving Luncheon raises over $82,000 to support early childhood education!

With support from over 150 attendees,  over $82, 000 was raised to support our mission to end generational poverty and family homelessness!  Thank you to Stacey Evans, our keynote speaker, and congratulations to our former client and 2018 Honoree, Angelique Niare! Over 400 Runners helped the Atlanta Children’s Shelter raise $85,000 for the 10th Annual 5 To Thrive 5K & Bunny Run/Walk!

The Atlanta Children’s Shelter (ACS) and more than 400 community supporters gathered in Piedmont Park for the 10th Annual “5 to Thrive” 5K Run/Walk and Bunny Run on Saturday March 31, 2018 to support ACS’ programs serving homeless children and families in Metro Atlanta.
