Enrichment Activities
Volunteers are an integral part of our childcare program. Several organizations come to our shelter on a regular basis to provide special activities that enhance our curriculum and extend the children’s learning experiences. Learning extends beyond the classroom at the Atlanta Children’s Shelter. Our students participate in weekly dance classes taught by instructors from Moving in the Spirit, yoga classes from Kashi Atlanta, and speech enrichment classes offered by the Georgia State University Department of Educational Psychology and Special Education. Our families also enjoy attending puppet shows, museums and sporting events with their children, and we are happy to be able to extend that opportunity to them.
